About me

about me

When I first started teaching German in 2007, I had to confront a lot of challenges. I had no idea if I would ever be able to be a good German Language Instructor and make my students happy although I learned 2 Foreign Languages to fluency and I was holding a solid postgraduate University degree in "German as Foreign Language" and "Spanish studies" from University Leipzig, Germany. So, I taught years at universities, high schools and private language schools and learned as much as I could along the way, and here I am. Now let me save you the time and trouble of learning German on your own. I’ve helped hundreds of people get to where they want to go with their learning goals.
My promise to you is, that with your passion and my know how, I’ll get you there too. You will learn faster and feel more confident and empowered to converse with anyone in German. You will feel secure in sentence structure and grammar as well as in pronunciation. And last but not least, you will know how to use learning strategies to improve your knowledge on your own.
In Germany I was born and raised. These days I spend half the year in Dresden and half the year in Sydney, Australia and I love to travel. I am always taking my camera with me to capture the uniqueness of places and landscapes. My passion other than teaching German and learning languages is dance. Dance inspires me to be creative beyond imagination.
Recently I completed a Yoga Teacher Training with Shades of Yoga with not only focus on movement (Vinyasa Flow) but also with strong focus on breath techniques and meditation. Yoga is not all disconnected with learning languages at all. I noticed the need of upgrading my skillset as I have experienced challenges in learning because of lack of focus and patience, the challenge for some students to stay in the present moment, feeling overwhelmed with the tasks because of stress in Life. Recently I have started incorporating those skills in schools and University classes with great success.

"Learning German has provided me the skills to stay in Germany for 2 months and audition for conducting and performance in Viola in Germany’s music university. I have also completed the German beginners’ course in NSW’s higher school certificate.
I have enjoyed Susanne’s class very much! She would go through all the basic German language slowly until I fully understand! This gave me the opportunity to build on my knowledge on the things I could not understand in school and I can ask Susanne as many questions as I like.
I would definitely recommend Susanne as your next German teacher because her teaching style is so much better, as she would go through the text book activities with you in class, give you extra learning material and actives from other books. The other thing that I like in class is that Susanne doesn’t always teach from the text book, she would create other fun activities that is better than the textbook!"
